Dearest Sister, Heather

Dearest Heather, oh wonderful sister of mine!

It's the night before I'm supposed to leave (I'm writing this a couple days early, and then scheduling when it posts). It's 1:00 a.m. and we have to be up at 5:30 to drive to the airport for a 14 hour flight. I'm trying so hard to come up with a great tribute post for you for your birthday, but I don't think I'd be doing it justice if I tried to do it in the state that I'm in.

But I don't want you to think I forgot your birthday. Oh, how could I! We have been kindred spirits since the day you were born...ever since I was 12 years old and I was begging our mother to push you out on my birthday. But alas, three days later you came. And I loved it. It was like playing house with a real live dolly. I got to change you, and feed you, and love you and hug you and squeeze you! I even would wake up with you in the middle of the night to feed you bottles. You were my little baby.

And it's okay that you weren't born on my birthday. Cuz you and I, and you and I alone, share so many similarities because of how close our birthdays are. And I personally think April is the best month ever! We rock!

So, please be patient with me. Once I recover from a few days of jet lag, I'll give you your well-deserved tribute! I'm sure, though, that with all the birthday posts you're going to get, I'll just say Ditto to all of them. :)

Anyway...Happy Birthday! I didn't forget. And I'll be thinkin of you while enjoying the beautiful sites and sounds of Europe...wishing it would have worked out for you to come with us.
